Evidence/activity/anecdote: I try to take advantage of the professional development that is offered by the school because I want to better myself as a teacher and also I want to continue to get my teaching certificate in the United States renewed every three years. Evidence for this standard this year is that I attended the MAC training for two days at the beginning of the school year. I have participated in all literacy workshops with Maggie Moon when she has visited our school. I also attended the EARCOS conference in Malaysia this month.
Impact on student’s learning:
Being a student every now and again gives me a good perspective and understanding of what my fourth grade students are experiencing. This is a good thing. Also, I’m always eager to replicate and experiment with what I’ve learned in workshops in my own classroom.
